Recently, I was in the car with my daughter who is 2 years old. As we drove along I noticed she was counting to ten in Spanish....which is something I'd only briefly worked with her on! Of course, her new language skills are due in large part to her time at New Dream Family Center. Not only are her teachers helping her develop language skills, they are also well-qualified, always available for questions, and most importantly, my daughter loves them!

The New Dream is more than just a daycare center. Our daughter is nurtured and supported in ways that far exceed typical child care. She's out getting her hands dirty in the gardens, learning about other cultures and nature, and making some great friends while she's at it! Our family feels lucky to be part of New Dream and our girl looks forward to each day spent there. As a parent of three children I think finding good childcare is tough. Finding affordable childcare is tough. Finding a place that offers quality care for infants through 6 years is really tough. And finding bilingual childcare has not even been an option in Eugene. I don't know what I like more about New Dream, the fact that it provides bilingual childcare OR the fact that kids can stay at the same childcare for 6 years --and never out grow the curriculum OR the fact that it is so affordable. I guess I love it that New Dream is all three-- bilingual, exciting for all, and affordable. I think a childcare center that offers infant through school age children a chance to learn a second language is wonderful. I love the idea that Spanish speaking children will learn English while English speaking children will learn Spanish. and all the children can learn from each other. I love it that the teachers are bilingual. The thing that struck me right away is that New Dream is a smart place. Even infants play, grow, and learn Spanish and English.

And best of all --our babies can keep learning at New Dream until they are ready for grade school. I hate disrupting my kids lives by changing schools every few years--I want my children to value long time friendships and I want them to settle into a stable environment. I want their teachers to really know them. The idea that kids can be happy at the same childcare center for 6 years is such a relief!!! I love it that children can really get to know each other over the years as they learn languages together. There is nothing that I would like better than for my kids to have best friends who they love and trust. At New Dream kids have a chance to really make friends. This is a wonderful place for babies and young children of native Spanish speaking families, native English speaking families and bilingual families to learn essential language and cultural skills. What a great opportunity for all families!!!
